
On the afternoon of November 23, at Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee held an announcement on the organization of the Southeast Asian Gong Festival in 2025.
In his opening speech, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province Nguyen Van Loc said that the Southeast Asian Gong Festival 2025 is a key cultural and tourism activity of the province, aiming to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space being recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity; and the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2005 - November 23, 2025).

The festival is also a cultural and social event of great significance to Lam Dong province and the Central Highlands region, aiming to honor and promote the value of the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space Heritage, affirming the respect and responsibility in preserving, conserving and promoting the cultural heritage values of ethnic minorities.
At the same time, it creates opportunities for international cultural exchange, enhances understanding, cooperation and connection between ethnic communities in Southeast Asia and the world; introduces the beauty of culture, people, music and tourism of Lam Dong.

With the theme "Echoes of Heritage - Connecting the Future", the 2025 Southeast Asian Gong Festival will take place from December 18, 2025 to January 2, 2026 in the central area of Lam Dong province and some localities in the province.
Within the framework of the festival, it is expected to set records, such as "The largest space for performing gongs and combining culture and art" and "The musical work with the largest and most crowded gong performance" (the work "We are LamDong")...

The highlight of the festival is the “Southeast Asia Gong Harmony 2025” gala night, scheduled to take place on the evening of December 20, at Lam Vien Square - Da Lat. The gala night connects the gong cultural space with contemporary music, creating a performance of regional scale.

According to the Organizing Committee, along with 11 gong artist teams from the Central Highlands and Phu Tho province; the 2025 Southeast Asian Gong Festival will have at least 5 gong artist teams from countries in the Southeast Asian region, such as Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand...; along with hundreds of artists and actors participating in the program.

The festival also has accompanying programs and activities, such as brocade fashion show, Global Coffee Heritage Festival 2025, the first Lam Dong Gong Club Festival - 2025; exchanges and performances of gong art by domestic and international troupes; international seminars; cultural-tourism experience space, and many other community activities.

At the press conference, an international music training cooperation agreement was signed between Dalat College and SEAMEO Regional Center for Lifelong Learning in Vietnam (Seameo Celll).


The Southeast Asian Gong Festival 2025 is one of the activities demonstrating Da Lat-Lam Dong's commitment to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music.
