Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai inspected the following units: Viet Nhat Company Limited, Xuan Long Cooperative, Coxano Huong Tho Company Limited, VNPT Building Project (at No. 4 Hanoi, Vinh Ninh Ward, Thuan Hoa District).

The inspection shows that enterprises and employers have paid attention to and seriously implemented occupational safety and health work. Enterprises proactively reviewed and assessed risks, applied measures to prevent occupational accidents and diseases; and periodically inspected machinery, equipment, and materials in accordance with legal regulations. Workers are provided with favorable conditions in terms of equipment, skills, and expertise, helping them feel secure in production and contribute to the common development.

At the inspection points, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai highly appreciated the proactive spirit of enterprises in ensuring occupational safety and health. At the same time, he emphasized that identifying and correctly assessing hazards and risks in the labor process is a prerequisite for preventing occupational accidents and diseases.

Particularly for the mining industry – a field with many dangerous factors – special attention should be paid to operating procedures, blasting procedures, use of excavators and forklifts; ensuring reasonable rest periods; regular inspection and maintenance of equipment. Dangerous areas such as fuel depots need to have barriers, warning signs and guardrails; in addition, attention should be paid to training, education and capacity building for workers.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai also assigned the task to functional units to strengthen inspection and examination of compliance with legal regulations on occupational safety and health; resolutely handle violations, especially for organizations and individuals that cause serious incidents, affecting the health and lives of workers.

Emphasizing the viewpoint of “prevention is key”, Mr. Tai noted the role and responsibility of business leaders in ensuring occupational safety and health. Doing this well will contribute to ensuring stable and sustainable production; If we are negligent and subjective, it will lead to serious consequences, directly affecting businesses and workers.

“Ensuring occupational safety and health is not only a legal responsibility but also an important factor in maintaining safe and effective production. Therefore, raising safety awareness among workers is extremely important. Enterprise rules and regulations must be clearly disseminated, such as working hours, steps when starting and ending a shift, and responsibilities in each job,” Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai emphasized.

Regarding the construction site of the VNPT building, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai said that although workers have been fully equipped with labor protection equipment, the construction safety plan is still lacking. Dangerous areas such as the railings of the floors do not have solid protective fences, only temporary reflective tapes are warned. The lack of warning devices and solid fences poses a risk of serious accidents. Therefore, Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai suggested that the investor urgently supplement protective measures, especially the establishment of a barrier system in high-rise areas, to prevent accidents for workers.
