Instead of spending time shopping outside, workers at Bui Van Ngo Agricultural and Food Machinery Co., Ltd. (My Hanh commune, Tay Ninh province) shop at the mini-supermarket right at the company. The goods are not only of good quality but also reasonably priced, lower than the market price, helping workers save money.
The items are displayed neatly and cleanly so that workers can easily choose them.
For over 15 years, Bui Van Ngo Agricultural and Food Machinery Co., Ltd. has maintained a mini-supermarket model within its factory premises to serve nearly 400 workers, saving them time and costs and allowing them to feel secure in their jobs. The company built the mini-supermarket with the motto "for the workers," prioritizing cost-effectiveness over high profits.
The mini-supermarket sources its goods from reputable suppliers, resulting in competitive prices, with many essential items cheaper than those found in the open market. In particular, the coffee produced by the company is sold at a 15% discount compared to market prices, practically contributing to reducing the living costs of workers.
According to Phung Van Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, the mini-supermarket space is designed to be compact yet modern, with goods displayed neatly and cleanly, divided into categories to make it easy for workers to choose. Thanks to the mini-supermarket, workers can save on expenses and purchase items on credit, which is very convenient. This is also one of the company's activities to care for the lives of its workers.
The convenience of mini-supermarkets is evident in their flexible payment methods. Workers can pay with cash, bank transfer, or debit their accounts to be deducted from their next salary payment, allowing them to proactively manage their spending without having to borrow money when shopping needs arise during the month.
Ms. Tran Thi My Hao, an employee of Bui Van Ngo Agricultural and Food Machinery Co., Ltd., shared: "I often work overtime, and I have a young child at home, so I don't have much time to go shopping outside. The mini-supermarket in the company is very convenient and has all the items I need."
A mini-supermarket within the company not only shortens the distance to shopping outside the market but also creates civilized, safe, and traceable consumer habits for employees. More importantly, the model contributes to building corporate culture, ensuring employees are listened to and their most practical needs are met.
As can be seen, mini-supermarkets are not just places to sell goods, but also effective welfare policies that help workers reduce their financial worries and provide them with more motivation to work.
