Phat studied Business Administration at Saigon University. During his studies, he had to take a year off to receive treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). This affected his study progress, but with his will, determination and willpower, Tan Phat overcame the difficulties, completed the study program and was recognized as graduating in the first batch of 2025, with a good grade.

The joy did not last long, before the day of receiving the diploma, Phat was hospitalized due to a viral fever that turned into pneumonia. He was unable to personally receive the diploma - the result of years of hard work. Phat's younger brother wore a bachelor's gown to receive the diploma on his brother's behalf at his funeral.

Phat's family said that although he had to face illness and try to study and practice during his university years, it was also a happy and meaningful time for Phat.
