According to statistics from the National Tourism Administration, the 5-day holiday on April 30 this year also marked a milestone in the number of visitors visiting and traveling the most since the COVID-19 pandemic, with more than 10.5 million visitors, an increase of more than 31% compared to the same period in 2024. Most key tourist destinations across the country recorded positive signals with a sharp increase in the number of visitors, from 50 to 100% compared to the same period in 2024. Ho Chi Minh City, where the largest event in the country took place this time, attracted nearly 2 million visitors. Ranked 8th in the National Tourism Administration's rankings is Ninh Binh province.
According to statistics from the tourism industry, during the 5-day holiday, the whole province is estimated to welcome over 700,000 visitors, an increase of 48.9% compared to the 2024 holiday, including over 124,000 international visitors, an increase of 112.9% compared to the 2024 holiday. Tourism revenue is estimated to reach over 1,000 billion VND, an increase of 43.9% compared to the 2024 holiday. The average room occupancy rate of the whole province during the holiday is from 85-90%. The number of days guests stay is estimated to reach an average of 2 days/guest. Some tourist destinations with a high increase in the number of visitors are: Tam Coc - Bich Dong tourist area, Trang An eco-tourism area, Thung Nham eco-tourism area, Hang Mua tourist area, Cuc Phuong National Park, etc.
Comrade Bui Van Manh, Director of the Department of Tourism, assessed: the 5-day holiday with many programs, events, activities, and festivals organized simultaneously by localities and businesses, so most destinations welcomed more visitors, longer stays, and higher revenue compared to the same period in 2024. In particular, the number of international visitors still grew well. Room rates and tourism services did not have many major fluctuations.
The leaders of the Department of Tourism also analyzed: the growth in the number of visitors, safe tourism activities, and quality assurance during the holiday is the result of a combination of many factors: The long holiday has created opportunities for people to plan their travel; cultural and artistic events have created strong attraction, especially at tourist destinations in the core heritage area; improved transport infrastructure has helped tourists travel more easily. Along with that, localities and businesses are constantly innovating products, improving the quality of tourism services to meet the diverse needs of tourists; management work has been focused on by localities from the beginning, contributing to improving the experience for tourists...
A notable point during the April 30-May 1 holiday this year is that the work of ensuring security, safety of tourism activities, and food hygiene and safety has been strengthened, preventing any unfortunate accidents or incidents. To ensure that tourists have a safe and convenient holiday, the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Tourism have issued documents directing the strengthening of inspection and supervision of tourism business conditions and environment. In particular, accommodation establishments are required to improve service quality, ensure environmental hygiene and food hygiene and safety. Tourist areas, destinations and means of transporting tourists strictly implement regulations on ensuring tourism business conditions, regulations on ensuring environmental hygiene, food safety, fire prevention and fighting, and disease prevention and fighting.
Tourism and accommodation businesses in the province have paid attention to upgrading degraded and damaged equipment, ensuring the best conditions for serving tourists; ensuring human resources to be ready to serve tourists safely and thoughtfully. The Department of Tourism has also directed the Tourism Promotion Information Center to strengthen propaganda and promotion of the province's tourism image, arrange enough staff to be on duty at 3 tourist support stations in Trang An, Tam Coc, Bai Dinh Pagoda, and maintain a hotline to support tourists during the holidays.
Ms. Duong Thi Thanh, Chairwoman of the Provincial Tourism Association, shared: Going back about 5 years ago, the Ninh Binh tourism market was always struggling with the problem of low season tourism. Almost all businesses thought that this was a "one-season" industry because in the summer months, tourists often tend to choose to travel to places with beaches. This problem was quickly solved by the correct and accurate orientation of the province when determining tourism and cultural industry to become a key economic cluster.
On that basis, the tourism industry has proactively implemented key solutions using heritage as the foundation to exploit sustainable values to build tourism products and cultural industrial products worthy of serving tourism. Along with that is the proactive and quick participation of businesses operating in the tourism sector. Therefore, Ninh Binh tourism has become a bright spot on the tourism map of Vietnam.
Since the beginning of the year, during the long holidays and Tet, Ninh Binh has continuously been in the top of the provinces and cities with the highest number of visitors and tourism revenue in the country.
