Chol Chnam Thmay is a New Year festival according to the traditional calendar of the Khmer people; it is an occasion for the Khmer people to gather, celebrate Tet with their families and strengthen community solidarity, join hands to build and develop their homeland. The area under the management of Lai Hoa Border Guard Station has nearly 80% of Khmer people, the people's lives are still difficult (the rate of poor and near-poor households is about 27%). To help the people enjoy the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year in 2025, Lai Hoa Border Guard Station has consulted and coordinated with the Red Cross Society of Vinh Chau town, the People's Committees of Lai Hoa and Vinh Tan communes to organize many practical activities such as: Medical examination, free medicine distribution for the poor, the disabled, and people with serious illnesses in the coastal border area; organize a folk cake wrapping contest (300 banh tet) to give to the poor in the area; organize cultural exchanges, traditional arts of the Khmer people; Organize a "Special Market", giving gifts such as food, bicycles, water filters... to help people in the coastal border area of ​​Soc Trang province celebrate Chol Chnam Thmay festival happily, warmly and happily.
