World No. 1 Jannik Sinner just experienced an ironic moment right after his 6-1 victory over Alexander Bublik in three sets to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2025 US Open. As he was preparing to leave Arthur Ashe Stadium, a fan almost stole something from his racket bag.
The incident happened when Sinner was busy signing autographs for fans. A man sneaked up and calmly reached out to unlock the bag he was wearing on his shoulder. Fortunately, a security guard discovered it in time and stopped him.
Seeing that scene, Sinner could only shake his head in surprise. The tournament organizers have not yet made a decision on how to handle this person.

However, the unexpected incident did not seem to affect the Italian star. Sinner continued to show confidence in the press conference afterwards.
He humorously shared that he got "a few free points" from Bublik and emphasized the unpredictability of tennis.
"There are always days when I don't play well and I lose easily. Tennis is unpredictable. I can only focus on myself and try to do my best. It all depends on how your opponent plays," Sinner said.
Sinner is in devastating form heading into the 2025 US Open quarterfinals, having dropped just one set so far. He will face compatriot Lorenzo Musetti for a place in the semi-finals.
With a record of reaching three Grand Slam finals this year, and only losing to Carlos Alcaraz at Roland Garros, Sinner is getting closer to his goal of defending the 2025 US Open title.
