In the first set, the Spanish player quickly secured a break and maintained his advantage with extremely powerful serves. Sinner tried to create difficult situations but frequently made errors. The Italian player lost another break point and lost 2-6.
Sinner found stability in the second set, while Alcaraz made a series of mistakes and paid the price by losing a break in game 4. Sinner capitalized on the opportunity and won 6-3. This was also Alcaraz's first loss in the tournament, preventing him from making history as the first player to win the entire set.

It seemed like this would give Sinner a psychological advantage, but the reality was quite the opposite. Alcaraz immediately regained control in the third set. He capitalized on his excellent serve and control of the baseline shots. A series of powerful and accurate shots helped Alcaraz win quickly 6-1, restoring his 2-1 lead.

Entering the fourth set, Sinner tried to catch up, but Alcaraz completely dominated the match. Securing a break in game 5, Alcaraz quickly finished the set with a 6-4 score, thus winning the match 3-1 and claiming the 2025 US Open title.
“I know he put in a lot of effort for today’s performance. Alcaraz and his team did better than me. Enjoy that. This was a great moment,” Sinner said after the match.
Alcaraz led the Tour with 7 titles and 61 wins in 2025. Alcaraz expressed his gratitude to the fans: “My team, my family, and I are truly fortunate to have you all. What you have given me has always helped me to improve, not only professionally but also as a person. Every achievement I have made is thanks to you, and this achievement is also thanks to you.”

This is also Alcaraz's sixth Grand Slam title, including the US Open in 2022 and 2025, Wimbledon in 2023 and 2024, and the French Open in 2024 and 2025.
