On the afternoon of December 11th, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien stepped onto the highest podium to receive the prestigious SEA Games gold medal in the pommel horse event of gymnastics. But after the moment of overwhelming victory, instead of just talking about his performance, the young man born in 2002 made reporters laugh with delight when he "showed off" an interesting discovery about a special coincidence at this year's tournament.
After putting on his jacket, Xuan Thien excitedly shared something that even he found hard to believe: "I'm 23 years old this year. This is my third SEA Games, and also the 33rd SEA Games. I won 3 consecutive gold medals, and my competition ranking is 102, which adds up to 3."

It seems that all the favorable factors—heavenly timing, geographical advantage, and human harmony—in Thailand revolve around the number 3, bringing good fortune to Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien.
Of course, luck is only a small part of the story. To make that coincidence truly special, Xuan Thien spent months training hard and delivered an impressive performance in the ring. His final routine was quite difficult, with smooth technique and a solid landing, earning him a score of 14.367 and leaving his closest competitors far behind.

Speaking about this "hat-trick" of gold medals (winning consecutive titles at the SEA Games 31, 32, and 33), Xuan Thien admitted that the journey to defend the highest medal was never easy. However, his relentless efforts, the encouragement of his family and coaching staff became a great motivation for him to achieve such well-deserved success today.
At the same time, the third consecutive gold medal also affirmed Xuan Thien's number one position in the pommel horse event in the region. "I missed one ASIAD already. So at the upcoming ASIAD, I hope I can step onto the podium and receive a medal," the SEA Games champion expressed.
