TPO - The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just issued a plan to organize the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh" movement in educational institutions.
The launching ceremony for the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho" in the Spring of the Year of the Snake will be organized by the Department of Education and Training on January 6th at the An Duong Vuong Secondary School campus in Dong Anh district.
Previously, the Department of Education and Training had planned a tree-planting festival in educational institutions, creating a vibrant, enthusiastic, and joyful atmosphere of competition throughout the city in the early days of spring, laying the groundwork for the city's development in the new year and the 2026-2031 period.
The plan aims to implement the project: "Planting one billion trees in the period 2021-2025"; and restore the system of trees broken and fallen due to Typhoon No. 3 in 2024 throughout the city.

At the same time, launching the tree planting movement also aims to raise the sense of responsibility of officials, teachers, staff, and students in educational institutions in the city regarding the role, effects, and value of forests and tree planting in socio- economic development, environmental protection, preservation of natural landscapes, contributing to disaster mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires that educational institutions organize activities in response to "Tree Planting Day" in a practical, effective, and dignified manner, avoiding ostentation, waste, and formality; with the active participation of officials, teachers, staff, parents, and students of the institution, thereby bringing about profound and comprehensive changes in awareness, attitudes, and behaviors regarding the environment, and establishing environmentally friendly practices.
Hanoi has instructed that, based on practical conditions, units should proactively select and plant new trees suitable to the landscape and natural conditions, such as: Spondias mombin, flamboyant, crape myrtle, camphor, Terminalia catappa, Ficus microcarpa, and Northwest Bauhinia...
Units have implemented strict management plans for the number of trees planted on campus, and have organized campaigns to encourage staff, teachers, employees, and students to actively participate in and support the movement to care for and protect green trees in the school and the local area.
