Department of Science and Technology works with the Center for Science and Technology Application of Quang Ngai province

On August 21-22, 2025, the Department of Science and Technology had a working session with the Center for Science and Technology Application (Center). Attending the meeting were representatives of the leaders of the Department of Science and Technology, specialized departments and units under the Department; Pham Van Dong University; Quy Nhon University; South Central Coast Agricultural Science and Technology Institute and experts.

The Center was established under Decision No. 04/2025/QD-UBND dated July 1, 2025 of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province with the function of researching, applying, deploying, transferring technology and providing scientific and technological services to serve the state management of the Department of Science and Technology, providing scientific and technological services to organizations and individuals inside and outside the province.

According to the Center's report, up to now, the Center has conducted research to create 03 new sweet potato varieties (DH-KL83, DH-KL79 and Le Can sweet potato) using the plant tissue culture method, has registered the circulation of 02 varieties DH-KL83 and DH-KL79 posted by the Department of Crop Production on the electronic information portal of the Department of Crop Production; deployed the production of 02 coffee varieties (THA1 coffee and Robusta coffee) with a total quantity of 71,000 seedlings; deployed the production of 12,000 jars of Cordyceps mushrooms; coordinated with the Institute for Agricultural and Rural Planning Research to deploy the project "Testing Black Summer Grape variety in some ecological sub-regions of Kon Tum province" with a planting area of ​​500m2 ^, a quantity of 176 trees; Produced 151 kg of level 3 mushroom seeds and 40,000 bags of various mushroom spawn to supply the market; safely preserved Kieng Sat pig breeds and Hre chickens; took care of the fruit tree nursery (green-skinned pomelo, Java rambutan, small-seeded durian)...

Currently, we have mastered a number of technologies that are highly applicable to life such as: DNA testing and analysis of Ngoc Linh ginseng content; VietGap certification in the field of cultivation; technology of plant cell tissue culture of Kim Tuyen orchid, Ngoc Linh ginseng, Ba Kich, Dang Sam, wild orchids, sweet potatoes; technology of extracting medicinal herbs, Cordyceps; technology of producing Cordyceps, Termite mushrooms, Oyster mushrooms; microbial preparations to treat waste into fertilizer.

According to the report, the Center still has some difficulties in receiving and transferring scientific and technological advances; economic and technical norms, service unit prices; machinery and equipment have been relatively fully equipped, but only at the laboratory scale, many of the equipment are outdated and no longer suitable; the implementation of experimental models is difficult in the lands in Ia Chim and Nghia Hanh communes due to lack of drainage, or flooding in the rainy season...

After listening to the Center's representative report on the implementation situation in the past time, the working delegation highly appreciated the Center's achievements in the past time. At the same time, experts from the Institute and University proposed many orientations in the field of tissue culture, new techniques in DNA analysis, research, application of domestic and foreign scientific and technological achievements in the fields of production, life and environmental protection; organizing technology transfer activities, connecting services, technical support in technology application deployment, connecting with the market and promoting products created from technology application; building demonstration models on the application of new technologies, advanced techniques and popularizing and replicating them in accordance with the locality; organizing the maintenance, preservation, conservation and development of plant varieties, special and valuable medicinal herbs and indigenous livestock to provide quality varieties for organizations and individuals in need...
