Specifically, pay TV subscribers are estimated at 20.52 million, down 2.28% compared to the same period in 2024. Currently, there are 36 businesses licensed to provide pay TV services. Pay TV service revenue in the first 6 months of 2025 (including VAT) is estimated at about VND 4,880 billion, down 2.4% compared to the same period in 2024.
Regarding blocking and removing bad and toxic information and violating content online, in the first 6 months of the year, Facebook blocked and removed 3,099 posts; YouTube removed 913 violating videos and 7 channels (posting about 12,000 videos); TikTok blocked and removed 1,284 violating content, including 5,600 videos and 9 audios, 724 accounts (posting more than 35,500 videos); Apple and Google blocked 148/219 unlicensed games on Apple and Google's app stores.
Regarding licensing of radio, television and electronic information activities, in the first 6 months of the year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism granted 4 radio operating licenses; 5 television operating licenses; 1 license to produce domestic radio channels; 19 licenses to edit foreign channels on pay-TV services; 5 certificates of registration to provide foreign channels on pay-TV services...
In addition, the management agency also revoked 5 television operating licenses; 13 licenses to produce domestic television channels; 18 licenses to edit foreign channels on pay radio and television services; and revoked 1 license to provide pay radio and television services.
The management agency has also granted 14 social network licenses and certificates; 5 electronic information page licenses; 25 licenses to provide online G1 electronic game services; 97 decisions to release online G1 electronic games; 1 certificate to notify cross-border contact information into Vietnam, and continues to monitor and supervise the activities of 6 foreign enterprises including Netlifx, Amazon TV, Apple, WeTV, IQiYi, MangoTV, ensuring that these enterprises do not provide pay TV services in Vietnam according to the enterprises' commitments.
