Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on March 23 called on the international community to take severe action to punish the perpetrators of the terrorist attack that took place on March 22 near the Russian capital Moscow. The death toll has now reached 143 people.

In a message to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on March 23, Iranian President Raisi also sent condolences to the Russian government and people. Mr. Raisi strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Russia and expressed support for Russia's efforts to protect national security.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sent a message of condolence to Russian President Vladimir Putin after the “massive terrorist attack in Moscow” and stressed that nothing could justify the “heinous terrorist act” against humanity, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on March 24.

The Islamic State group Hamas on March 23 also condemned the terrorist attack, which was claimed by IS. In a statement, Hamas “condemned in the strongest terms” the terrorist attack that left hundreds dead and injured. Hamas expressed its sincere condolences and “full solidarity” with the Russian government and people as well as the families of the victims of the attack.

The death toll from a terrorist attack the day before rose to 143 after gunmen stormed a concert hall in Moscow, Reuters ' Margarita Simonyan reported on March 23.

Among those killed, the youngest victim was 33 years old, the oldest was 71 years old.

Data shows that the victims' causes of death were gunshot wounds and gas poisoning. According to preliminary investigations, the terrorists used machine guns in the attack and used flammable liquid to set fire to the theater hall.
