Son La Department of Agriculture and Environment has done a good job of land management after streamlining the apparatus.

(sonla.gov.vn) The Department of Agriculture and Environment is being reorganized according to Project 291 dated February 15, 2025 on merging the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. After July 1, 2025, the organizational structure of the Department of Agriculture and Environment includes 16 departments, branches, and public service units: 07 specialized departments, 05 affiliated branches, 4 public service units (Transferring the Land Fund Development Center to the Provincial People's Committee according to Project No. 1538 dated June 26, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee). After the merger, the Department quickly completed and stabilized the apparatus and arranged staff, ensuring good work, especially in the field of land management.

The Department has prepared conditions for the work of adjusting the provincial planning (adjusting the land allocation and zoning plan in the provincial planning); implementing the task of land inventory, creating a map of the current land use status in 2024 in 75 communes after the arrangement of new administrative units. The Department carries out administrative procedures, builds a land database: Coordinates with the Provincial People's Committee Office, relevant Departments and branches to remove instructions related to land procedures under the authority of the People's Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level when organizing a 2-level local government; Appraised and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee 58 dossiers of land allocation, land lease, and land recovery (including: 11 dossiers of land allocation, 6 dossiers of land recovery; 41 dossiers of land lease (including 13 dossiers of land use extension); advised the Provincial People's Committee to deploy Plan No. 515/KH-BCA-BNN&MT dated August 31, 2025 of the Ministry of Public Security - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on implementing the campaign to enrich and clean up the national database on land. In the land inspection work, the Department organized the announcement and inspection of 08/15 planned inspections (06 completed) on compliance with legal regulations on land management and use and implementation of financial obligations on land with organizations using land in the province.

In the work of site clearance, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1966/QD-UBND dated August 5, 2025 on promulgating the Handbook on procedures for compensation, resettlement support, and land recovery for national defense and security purposes; socio -economic development for national and public interests in Son La province.

Regarding land prices, the Department has submitted to the Provincial People's Committee to issue 02 decisions to adjust and supplement the Land Price List in Son La province in Decision No. 43/2019/QD-UBND dated December 31, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee to apply until December 31, 2025 according to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 257 of the Land Law 2024 (in the whole province); continue to complete the submission to the People's Council for land price list for the remaining areas; Organize the determination of specific land prices for 2/6 projects (Sunrise Eco-Resort Project in Chieng Di Sub-area, Moc Chau Farm Town; Van Ho Mixed-use Housing and Commercial Center Project, Van Ho District (submitted to the Appraisal Council); continue to organize the determination of specific prices for 4/6 projects according to the valuation plan (Muong Thanh Moc Chau Hotel Complex Project; Cuoc Song General Hospital Project; Son La City Cemetery Park Project; Mai Son District People's Cemetery Project).
