
In the period 2026-2030, the Department of Agriculture and Environment identifies the goal of developing ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers; exploiting and effectively using land, water, forest and sea resources for sustainable development; promoting the application of science and technology, digital transformation, developing green economy , circular economy, striving for an average growth rate of 4.8%/year in Region I. By 2030, the total aquatic product output will reach 1.66 million tons (of which shrimp is 750,000 tons), rice output will reach 1.89 million tons; the area of concentrated forest will maintain 98,642 hectares, forest cover rate will be 12.42%; the rate of rural population using clean water will reach 65%; 89% of communes will meet new rural standards; 95% of household waste will be collected and treated to ensure environmental technical standards.
In addition, the Plan includes 22 key tasks for the 2026-2030 period, including: plans for developing the shrimp, crab, and marine aquaculture industries; programs for protecting and developing aquatic resources; resolutions to support population relocation; salt development projects; OCOP product development programs; plans for developing collective economies, linking value chains, and consuming agricultural products; plans to implement national target programs on sustainable poverty reduction and new rural construction; and decisions and regulations on livestock density, forest price frameworks, prices for collection and treatment of domestic solid waste, forest fire prevention and fighting, surface water quality management, and encouraging socialization of investment in environmental protection infrastructure.
The 5-year socio-economic development plan for the period 2026-2030 demonstrates the determination to innovate management thinking, effectively promote the potential and advantages of the locality; aiming to develop ecological, modern and sustainable agriculture, contributing to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development goals of Ca Mau province to 2030, with a vision to 2050./.
