DEPARTMENT OF CULTURE, SPORTS AND TOURISM ORGANIZES TRAINING AND EDUCATION CLASS ON CONSERVATION AND PROMOTION OF PERFORMING ARTS OF KHMER ETHNIC FOLK SONGS (FOLK DANCES, FOLK MUSIC) IN CONNECTION WITH TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN TAY NINH

From October 9-11, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province organized a training course on preserving and promoting folk performing arts (folk songs, folk dances, folk music) of the Khmer people in conjunction with tourism development in the province.

The class attracted the participation of 107 Khmer ethnic students and commune-level cultural and social officials in areas where Khmer communities live.

The objective of the training course is to effectively implement Project No. 6 under the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period. At the same time, to implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's policies and laws on preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities, in conjunction with tourism development. The course also aims to effectively promote the investment resources of the State and society in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minority communities; raising public awareness of the role and importance of preserving cultural identity in the new era.

The content of the training course includes: The Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws on ethnic culture; Identifying Khmer folk performing arts in Tay Ninh in the traditional and modern context (analyzing the positive and negative impacts of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution); Methods of preserving and promoting the value of folk performing arts in the new era, associated with tourism development; and Solutions for economic - cultural - social development to improve the lives of Khmer people in Tay Ninh province.

Through the training course, not only will awareness and pride in traditional cultural values ​​be raised, but the community will also be encouraged to preserve and promote these values ​​in their current lives. At the same time, the course will also provide basic knowledge for commune-level cultural officers to advise local Party committees and authorities on implementing cultural preservation solutions associated with tourism development, contributing to the sustainable development of the Khmer ethnic community.
