There are 10 teams participating in the contest, each team has 3 members. The teams come from the following provinces and cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Lai Chau, Lao Cai and Dien Bien. The contest consists of 2 parts: Preparing dishes from available ingredients prepared by the Organizing Committee; introducing the meaning, theme, processing process, nutritional value, and health benefits of the dish.
The 2024 Northwest Golden Chef Competition is organized to introduce, honor and promote delicious and attractive dishes of Vietnam in general and the Northwest region in particular. Propagating, promoting, introducing and honoring the art of culinary processing , while developing typical and unique dishes to serve tourists.
The competition contributes to expanding relationships and exchanging experiences and professional expertise among chefs. Through the competition, it helps to boost tourism demand, promote tourist growth, create a vibrant atmosphere, attract the attention of people, domestic and foreign tourists to activities in Dien Bien National Tourism Year 2024.
With the careful preparation of the teams, the dishes were prepared with a variety of dishes, rich in identity and unique flavors of each locality. The dishes all used natural ingredients, were environmentally friendly and were prepared right at the competition, creating a lively competitive atmosphere. The presentations were focused on by the teams, highlighting the main theme and dishes.
At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates and prizes to the chefs, including 1 Gold Chef prize, 1 Silver Chef prize, 3 Bronze Chef prizes and 5 special prizes. The Gold Chef prize went to Him Lam team from Dien Bien province.
