In the atmosphere of the whole country jubilantly looking forward to the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province enthusiastically organized activities towards Dien Bien. This is a meaningful activity, demonstrating the spirit of "drinking water, remembering its source", the people's gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory is an important political event, through which to arouse national pride, strengthen revolutionary tradition education for cadres, party members, and people, especially the young generation; encourage and motivate ethnic minorities in Dien Bien and the Northwest provinces; honor and show gratitude to those who have contributed to the revolution, to the people and soldiers who have contributed their efforts and blood to build and defend the Fatherland.
Recently, a delegation of officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police organized a journey to the source, offering incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the A1 Hill Martyrs Cemetery, the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument and visiting the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command Headquarters, the workplace of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Muong Phang commune, Dien Bien city.
At each relic site, officers and soldiers of the provincial police reviewed history and learned more about the correct and creative military policies of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh. Also in the program, the delegation visited and presented gifts to poor women and the police of Na Tong commune, Dien Bien district, with a total value of 37 million VND.
Secretary of the Provincial Police Youth Union Do Van Cuong said: "The journey to the source is a meaningful activity, fostering revolutionary patriotism, the morality of "drinking water, remembering its source", and is a driving force to promote the creative labor emulation movement of youth union members in the People's Police sector".
On the journey of hundreds of kilometers, crossing the historic Pha Din pass, hundreds of veterans of the province, many of whom participated in the resistance war against the US, the war to protect the northern border... returned to the heroic land of Dien Bien Phu.
This journey is part of a series of activities to pay tribute to the great contributions of the heroes, martyrs, and soldiers of Dien Bien in the past who sacrificed their blood and youth for the cause of national liberation, for the independence and happiness of the people.
Head of the Propaganda Department, Provincial Veterans Association Cao Van Thang said: "In addition to visiting, offering incense in memory, and learning more about historical sites in Dien Bien Phu, the members of the Veterans Association actively participated in the Program to mobilize and support the construction of great solidarity houses for poor households and members of the Veterans Association with housing difficulties in Dien Bien province and the Northwest region, launched by the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
Up to now, the association has mobilized more than 200 million VND. Through the program, it not only shows the feelings and gratitude of the cadres and members of the War Veterans Association in the province but also contributes to propaganda, education, arousing the strength of great national unity, raising the sense of responsibility of all classes of people, organizations, and businesses to care for ethnic minorities and revolutionary bases that have made many contributions and sacrifices for the cause of national liberation.
Along with the meaningful journey back to the source, all levels, sectors, units and localities organize many activities to care for policy families and social protection beneficiaries; exhibitions of paintings, photos, historical documents, etc.
From there, it arouses patriotism, self-reliance, and the desire for peace; motivates cadres, party members, and people of all walks of life to strive and make efforts to successfully fulfill political goals and tasks and develop the economy and society.
