Việt NamViệt Nam16/11/2023

(HG) - On the afternoon of November 16, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Transport (MOT), and a number of relevant units of the MOT inspected the construction progress of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, the section passing through Hau Giang province. Joining the MOT delegation were Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hau Giang province and a number of relevant departments and branches of the province.

Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang (front row, second from left), listens to the investor's representative report on the project's progress.

Accordingly, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang inspected the IC5 intersection in Vi Thang commune, Vi Thuy district and the IC3 intersection in Long Thanh commune, Phung Hiep district. At the time of inspection, many equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, rollers, pile driving equipment, bored pile equipment, etc. were actively operating. In addition, for sections with available ground, the construction unit is also constructing the embankment on both sides of the road and pumping sand; at the same time, producing beams. Particularly at the IC3 intersection, the construction unit has placed the overpass beam for one span. However, one of the major difficulties in implementing the project is the shortage of raw sand, which has somewhat slowed down the progress.

The construction unit is actively implementing the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, the section passing through Hau Giang province.

Speaking at the survey, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Transport, highly appreciated the construction spirit and progress of the project implementation of the construction unit, and at the same time requested the construction unit to continue to speed up the implementation progress while ensuring the quality of the project. Regarding the difficulty in the source of raw sand, it is recommended that the investor develop a plan and have solutions to allocate and regulate the source of raw sand reasonably for each contractor at each specific time to ensure the construction progress. In addition, on the basis of the investor determining the daily demand for raw sand to serve the construction progress of the project, it is recommended that each locality around the project with sand mines assigned to exploit and supply the expressway must have solutions to support the investor. Because, if the initial infrastructure problem is not resolved soon, there will be many difficulties for the next stages, as well as affecting the progress of completing the project later.

Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang (middle) presents a gift of encouragement to the construction unit at the survey at IC5 intersection, part of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway.

Also during the survey trip, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang sent some gifts to encourage the construction unit to implement the project.
