The PC version of Stellar Blade was officially released on June 12th and quickly became Sony's largest single-player game launch ever on Steam, surpassing all previous PlayStation exclusive game records for the number of concurrent players.

According to SteamDB data, Stellar Blade has set a new record with 183,830 concurrent players at the time of writing. This impressive number far surpasses previous hit titles from Sony such as Ghost of Tsushima (77,000 players), God of War (73,000), or Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered (66,000).

Currently, Stellar Blade maintains 132,000 concurrent players, placing it 4th on Steam's rankings, behind only the three familiar "giants" of the platform: Counter-Strike 2, PUBG, and Dota 2.

Not only did Stellar Blade achieve a record number of players, but it also received nearly 3,000 "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on Steam, a testament to its strong popularity and positive reception from the gaming community.

In fact, among the games released by Sony, only Helldivers 2 – a game focused on multiplayer – has recorded a higher number of concurrent players than Stellar Blade. However, Stellar Blade still holds the absolute lead in the single-player game segment.

Stellar Blade's success is no surprise. Even a week before its official release, the game had already reached the 3rd position on Steam's best-selling list. The demo version even received widespread praise.

Yoko Taro, the creator of Nier, recently joked that he regretted the collaboration between his characters and Stellar Blade developer Shift Up. However, now that the game is available on PC, modders can unleash their creativity and add any outfit they dream of to the game.

Notably, the PC version of Stellar Blade was initially inaccessible via Steam in over 100 countries. However, the game is now available in over 250 regions worldwide.

In addition, the modding feature of the game has also received strong support from the gaming community. Since the demo was released a few weeks ago, the development community has quickly launched a series of mods to fine-tune and enhance the game's features, providing a more diverse experience for gamers.

Following the resounding success of Stellar Blade, developer SHIFT UP has confirmed that a sequel to the game is in development.
