The Sony FX2 is equipped with a back-illuminated Exmor R full-frame sensor with an effective resolution of 33 megapixels, delivering sharp images and smooth bokeh effects - a hallmark of the Cinema Line. The camera supports Dual Base ISO at 800 and 4,000 for S-Log3 mode, which optimizes image quality in a variety of lighting conditions. ISO can be expanded up to 102,400 when recording video , ideal for low-light environments or night scenes. The FX2 supports a variety of professional recording formats, including 4:2:2 10-bit All-Intra and XAVC SI DCI 4K at 24p, meeting flexible post-production needs.
Continuous shooting time is significantly increased thanks to the integrated cooling system, allowing for up to 13 hours of recording at 4K 60p. FX2 supports slow-motion recording at up to 60 fps in 4K (equivalent to 2.5x slow-motion effect) and 120 fps in Full HD (5x slow-motion effect), giving filmmakers great flexibility in handling motion.
The FX2 comes with the default S-Cinetone color mode, combined with a variety of Picture Profile and Creative Look options, allowing you to create cinematic frames right from the camera. In addition, the camera also supports desqueeze display for 1.3x and 2.0x anamorphic lenses, helping to accurately align the frame when shooting in wide cinema format.
In terms of focusing, the FX2 is equipped with Real-time Recognition AF technology - a real-time autofocus system with high precision, especially with human subjects. In addition, the camera can flexibly recognize many other subjects such as animals, birds, vehicles and insects, with Auto mode supporting fully automatic recognition. Advanced support features such as focus breathing compensation, AF Assist, and the ability to customize the speed and sensitivity of focus transitions allow users to control the focus point smoothly and accurately - thereby creating cinematic visual effects.
In addition, the FX2 also expands connectivity with HDMI Type-A, allowing output of 4K 60p 4:2:2 10-bit or RAW 16-bit signals. The device supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), wired LAN connection (via adapter), and USB Type-C for high-speed data transfer SuperSpeed 10 Gbps and fast charging via USB Power Delivery.
It is expected that the FX2 camcorder will officially go on sale in Vietnam from August 2025, with two versions: FX2 (with handle) priced at VND 84.99 million or FX2B (body only) priced at VND 74.99 million.
