With the message “Breakthrough, reach further - Together, we run further” - for a smoke-free environment, this year's season is not only a race but also a clear demonstration of the international stature and strong attraction of Vietnam Marathon.
Soaring attraction, affirming position
The 2025 season will witness a remarkable increase in the number of international athletes, with 2,500 athletes from nearly 70 countries, nearly double that of 2024. This impressive number confirms that the Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi is the race with the largest number of international athletes in Vietnam. This event not only promotes the running movement but is also a golden opportunity to promote the image of Hanoi, a thousand-year-old culture, to friends around the world, while directly contributing hundreds of billions of VND to the local tourism economy .

Ms. Trinh Nhu Quynh - Director of External Relations, Marketing & Branding of Standard Chartered Bank, the main sponsor with over 120 years of operation in Vietnam, emphasized: the race is not only a pure sporting event, but also a playground for integration and connection, demonstrating a long-term commitment to sustainable values and social responsibility. The race has become an iconic international event of Vietnam and attracts tens of thousands of athletes from all over the world, promoting the connection of all classes in society, encouraging and motivating the community to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Breakthrough roadmap and optimal preparation
The race will take place from November 7 to November 9. The official race day on November 8 will have 3 distances: 5km (adults) and 2.1km (children), and on November 9, there will be 3 main marathon distances: 42km, 21km and 10km. The allocation of distances over two days is in compliance with the direction of the state management agency, aiming to bring the best experience to athletes and minimize the impact on the daily life of the people of the capital.
The highlight of this year is the relocation of the starting and finishing points to Quan Ngua Sports Palace. This change opens up a nearly 10km completely flat route along West Lake, considered one of the most beautiful and ideal routes, creating conditions for athletes to break through personal records.
With a rich prize system with a total value of up to more than 1 billion VND, the tournament is ready to honor and recognize the efforts of all participants.
Absolute safety and sustainable commitment
Ensuring maximum safety for athletes is the top priority set by the Organizing Committee. Accordingly, Bach Mai Hospital continues to be the Medical Partner and has built a professional medical support system with 21 Medical Stations along the race route, mobilizing 80 medical personnel trained in emergency care, along with 8 ambulances and 10 spare beds in specialized units. This preparation, in compliance with international medical standards, ensures the ability to respond quickly to any emergency situation.

Aiming at the goal of sustainable development, the tournament pioneered many impressive initiatives. The organizers prioritized the use of environmentally friendly materials, such as replacing nylon with fabric for banners and cooperating with Urenco to collect and recycle waste. In particular, this is the first race in Vietnam to cooperate with the Tobacco Harm Prevention Fund to build a model of Outdoor No-Smoking Space, spreading the message of healthy living to the community.
In addition, the race's community mission continues to be strengthened through meaningful activities such as the program "Give old shoes - Receive joy", the charity fundraising program "The Leaders Run" and the activity "Light up the running track" to accompany the visually impaired.
