(HNMO) - On May 6, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department ( Hanoi City Police) informed that the health of 3 people who were taken to the emergency room at the scene of a fallen tree on Khuong Ha Street, Khuong Dinh Ward, Thanh Xuan District has recovered positively and is no longer in danger. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.

Previously, at around 9:30 p.m. on May 5, an old tree at the intersection of Khuong Ha Street and Lane 250 Khuong Trung Street suddenly fell down, blocking the road. At the time, the weather was favorable, with no heavy rain or strong winds. At the scene, it was noted that the fallen tree belonged to the banyan family, with a base diameter of about 1 meter. When it fell, it was accompanied by loose branches and leaves, causing traffic congestion. At the same time, 3 people traveling through the area were affected, injured by falling tree branches.

Upon receiving the news, the 114 Command Center of Hanoi City Police mobilized the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Team of Thanh Xuan District Police to bring machinery and vehicles to the scene, along with the 115 Emergency Center and Khuong Dinh Ward Police to quickly clear the scene and take the injured to the emergency room.

At around 10:30 p.m. the same day (May 5), the scene of the incident was cleared. Initial investigation revealed that the tree was lying horizontally, with its base more than 1 meter above the ground. When it fell, the tree showed no signs of decay. In addition to the three injured residents, the fallen tree damaged two street name signs and traffic signals. There were no casualties.
