During the two wars of resistance against French colonialism and American imperialism, the mangrove and melaleuca forests in Ca Mau served as a steadfast base for the revolution. Particularly during the period 1958-1960, "forest villages" were formed in the U Minh forest, where people both produced goods and fought to defend their homeland.
Over time, the "U Minh Forest Village" has been restored using historical documents and evidence, becoming a unique cultural tourism product that vividly recreates life in the former war zone. More than just an attractive destination, this is also how Ca Mau transforms its historical heritage into a new, sustainable, and distinctive resource for development.
Beneath the melaleuca forest canopy, simple thatched houses have been restored, along with artifacts associated with daily life. The scene of life in this "Forest Village" is rustic and simple, yet exudes a resilient vitality, symbolizing the heroic spirit of the people of the U Minh Ha region.

Beyond sightseeing, visitors can immerse themselves in the rustic lifestyle of the people of U Minh Ha. They can experience daily activities such as cooking rice over a wood fire, riding in traditional boats, casting nets to catch fish, and listening to historical stories to better understand the hardships the people endured during the resistance war.
From the beginning of the year until now, Ca Mau's tourism activities have continued to maintain positive growth with over 6.7 million visitors. Revenue is estimated at over 6,800 billion VND, an increase of more than 16% compared to the same period last year. The locality focuses on developing cultural and ecological tourism.
The U Minh forest village is not only a tourist highlight, but also a place that preserves and spreads historical values, so that present and future generations will further cherish the sacrifices of their ancestors. With each step, visitors will feel more proud and fond of this land at the southernmost tip of the country.
