Delegates offered incense in commemoration of Comrade Vo Van Kiet.
Mr. Do Van Nghiep, Head of the Historical Storytelling Club at the Ca Mau Provincial Museum, gave a brief introduction to the life, background, and career of Comrade Vo Van Kiet during his time working in U Minh.
During the program, delegates offered incense to commemorate the late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet at the historical site where he lived and worked (Hamlet 16, U Minh Commune). Teachers, parents, and students listened to Mr. Do Van Nghiep, Head of the Historical Storytelling Club, Ca Mau Provincial Museum, recount the key aspects of the late Prime Minister's life and revolutionary career during his time in U Minh. In addition, the students participated in interactive activities and quizzes with prizes.
Mr. Tran Quoc Anh, a bodyguard of Comrade Vo Van Kiet, presents scholarships to students.
On this occasion, the Vo Van Kiet Scholarship Fund awarded 30 scholarships, each worth 500,000 VND, along with 500 notebooks to poor students and students from disadvantaged backgrounds at schools in U Minh commune. The funding was raised through donations from Mr. Tran Quoc Anh and his wife – former bodyguards of Comrade Vo Van Kiet; Mr. Hua Minh Thuan, former staff member of the Office of the Southwest Region Party Committee; Mr. Do Van Dong, Deputy Director of U Minh Ha Forestry Company Limited; and Mr. Pham Duy Khanh, Director of Muoi Ngọt Community Tourism Enterprise.
Mr. Do Hoang Gioi, Chairman of the People's Committee of U Minh commune, presents gifts to students during the exchange session.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Do Hoang Gioi, Chairman of the People's Committee of U Minh commune, thanked the Vo Van Kiet Scholarship Fund and other sponsors for their meaningful support and attention; and affirmed that this is a practical source of encouragement, contributing to the education of revolutionary traditions and providing further motivation for students to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.
