The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Rector of Can Tho University.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the results of cooperation over the past period, especially in the areas of human resource training; teacher and education management staff development; scientific research; and professional consulting for the local education sector.

Mr. Le Hoang Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, reported on the results of cooperation during the 2022-2025 period.

During the period 2022-2025, Can Tho University (formerly Can Tho University) and the People's Committee of Ca Mau province collaborated on 11 provincial-level science and technology projects.

Can Tho University has collaborated in training high-quality human resources for Ca Mau province: 1,077 students have graduated with a bachelor's degree (part-time and distance learning); 447 students have graduated with a master's degree (full-time); 12 doctoral candidates have completed their doctoral programs; and more than 19,350 people in Ca Mau have received pedagogical training.

Associate Professor Tran Trung Tinh, Rector of Can Tho University, expressed his hope that the cooperation between Can Tho University and Ca Mau province will continue to expand and deepen in the period 2025-2030.

Based on the results achieved, the two sides discussed the content of cooperation for the period 2025-2030, focusing on practicality, effectiveness, and alignment with the actual needs of Ca Mau.

The focus is on training and developing high-quality human resources for the education sector; advising on innovative teaching methods and educational management in line with the 2018 General Education Program; and supporting the transfer of science and technology.

In addition, discussions focused on diversifying admission methods to create more opportunities for students to access higher education; and short-term training programs to improve the professional skills and expertise of officials, teachers, and workers in Ca Mau province.

Mr. Huynh Anh Huy, Principal of the Teacher Training College, Can Tho University, discussed cooperation in the field of teacher training and professional development.

The meeting served as a basis for both sides to further concretize the cooperation content, aiming towards signing a cooperation agreement for the period 2025-2030 to improve the quality of human resources serving the socio-economic development of Ca Mau province.
