The Truth National Political Publishing House has just published the second edition of the book "A Heart for the Country" - a collection of speeches, articles and interviews by former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh. In the vibrant flow of modern Vietnamese history, she is one of the special figures who left a deep impression on the hearts of the people as well as international friends.

The book, exclusively published by Sbooks, not only depicts a rich revolutionary path but also shows the mindset of a leader with strategic vision, deep humanity, always concerned with the fate of the country and the Vietnamese people.

Two books published by the Truth National Political Publishing House recreate the life and career milestones of former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh - an outstanding diplomat , a living witness who participated in and witnessed the ups and downs of the nation's history in the 20th century.

Through more than 600 pages of three main parts, readers are led through the stages from diplomacy to education, from the struggle for independence to nation building, in a sincere, profound and historically weighty writing style.

One of the highlights of the book is her recollections of the Paris negotiations - an event that marked a major turning point in Vietnam's revolutionary diplomacy. Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh served as the Head of the Negotiating Delegation of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam (1968) and the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam (from 1969 to 1973).

She was the only woman sitting at the negotiating table between the parties. She affirmed: “In the history of world diplomacy, the Paris negotiations on Vietnam from May 1968 to January 1973 were the longest negotiations to end a war in the 20th century.”

With more than 200 public meetings, 45 high-level private meetings, 500 press conferences and 1,000 interviews - the numbers mentioned not only show the fierceness of the diplomatic front, but are also vivid evidence of the perseverance, courage and intelligence of revolutionary diplomacy.

Not only did she excel in her role as a diplomat, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh also left a strong mark in the field of education. From 1976 to 1987, a difficult period for the country after the war, she held the position of Minister of Education. During her time as the sector commander, for the first time the education sector had its own day of honor, with November 20 being chosen as Vietnam Teachers' Day; titles such as "People's Teacher" and "Excellent Teacher" were officially recognized. This was not only a policy of gratitude, but also reflected the strategic vision of a leader who put people at the center, considering education as the foundation for sustainable development.

But what makes the book so appealing is not the recounting of her achievements, but the way she shares her concerns, thoughts, and even private moments placed in the context of the country's movements.

For example, on page 14, she recalls the time in 1992 when she was nominated for the position of Vice President, she herself refused because she was 65 years old and about to retire. But then, with a heart for the country, she asked herself: "Whatever I do, it is for the country, not for any other purpose." That simple answer is the deepest proof of the ethics of public service, the sense of responsibility of a revolutionary cadre, who devoted his whole life without regard for fame or position.

The memoirs in the book do not have an autobiographical or personal glorification tone, but are full of humanity and social responsibility. On page 10, she wrote: “My life is tied to the life of the nation… I compare our country to a boat. Through many rapids, the boat of the Fatherland has set sail to the open sea, ahead is a new horizon”. The image of the boat is not only a metaphor for the revolutionary journey but also a metaphor for the belief in the future, in the ability to reach out to the world of a nation that has suffered many losses but always stands up strongly.

Through the book, readers can also clearly see the political style of Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, a style close to the people, simple, but always sharp in thinking and steadfast in principles. In many pages, she expressed a consistent attitude towards the country's difficult issues, from judicial reform, building a rule-of-law state, to promoting the role of women in national governance. All are presented not as slogans, but as experiences drawn from practical life, including the sympathy and responsibility of a great citizen for the common destiny.

The special thing about Tam Long Voi Dat Nuoc is also its inspirational value. Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh does not hide her thoughts about the younger generation, the future of education, and Vietnam's position in the international arena. The book ends with the image of a person over 90 years old still writing articles, attending seminars, campaigning for funds for children, education, and peace, still following current events, still giving policy advice as if she had never rested. That makes readers feel moved and respected.

Before reprinting the book "A Heart for the Country" , the Truth National Political Publishing House introduced to readers the book "Family, Friends and Country" by author Nguyen Thi Binh, with a circulation of up to 48 thousand copies - a very remarkable number for the political book - memoir genre. That success shows the strong spread of the values that Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh conveys: not only the memories of a revolutionary, but also a way of life, a profound and lasting humanistic philosophy.

A Heart for the Country is not a dry political memoir, nor is it a collection of diplomatic statements. It is the crystallization of a life lived with the nation, concerned about the future of the country, and always believing in good things. Through each page, readers will find a lesson in personality, an ideal leadership model, and above all, a loyal heart for the country.
