Tan Hong is a border district with a low starting point in building new rural areas, averaging about 7.5 criteria/commune; average income per capita reaches 12.8 million VND/person/year; the rate of poor and near-poor households is high compared to the provincial average... However, with the determination of the entire political system, focusing investment resources in all aspects, Tan Hong changes every day.

During the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, Tan Hong district has mobilized 4,590 billion VND to invest in completing the criteria, thereby clearly changing the appearance of the countryside and improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, the district has achieved many important achievements, the infrastructure system has been invested synchronously, from national highways, provincial roads to inter-commune and inter-hamlet roads are all asphalted and concreted, creating favorable conditions for traffic and economic development. The district has promoted the advantages of Dinh Ba International Border Gate and 2 secondary border gates, Binh Phu and Thong Binh; promoted trade and developed border economy; focused on developing agriculture in a modern direction, implementing rice production models according to the value chain, while promoting the development of industry, trade and services.

Up to now, 100% of the district's agricultural land has been actively irrigated; 99.95% of households use electricity stably, regularly and safely; there are 44 schools at all levels, of which 33 schools meet national standards (75%). Tan Hong market meets the standards of a second-class market, with a business area of ​​about 3,920m2, which has been invested in upgrading and renovating and has arranged for small traders to do stable business; An Phuoc market has been invested to implement the model of "Market ensuring food safety".

In the district, there are 25 OCOP products, of which 23 products meet 3-star standards, 2 products meet 4-star standards; the economic structure has shifted in a positive direction, reducing the proportion of production value in the agricultural - forestry - fishery sector, increasing the proportion of production value in the industrial - construction sector and the trade - service sector. The transportation system has been invested synchronously; the planting of flowers, trees, lighting to improve the landscape and environment is regularly carried out by the people together with the People's Self-Management Group and the government...
