Currently, Lao Cai's main crops are growing and developing well, including spring rice in the stage of heading, flowering, and milking; early tea rice in the highlands is taking root and greening; early tea corn is growing and developing 7-9 leaves; banana trees planted on an area of 175 hectares are in the stage of leafing out, pineapple trees planted on 125 hectares; temperate fruit trees (plums, peaches, pears) are in the stage of fruiting and early tea peaches and plums are starting to be harvested.
In order to ensure successful production, the Lao Cai Provincial Center for Agricultural Extension and Rural Clean Water recommends that farmers proactively take measures to store water in ponds, lakes, and reservoirs in case of drought; use water economically and effectively; and convert crop structures in drought-stricken areas and areas lacking water to ensure timely harvests; increase the application of technical measures such as SRI rice cultivation, increase organic fertilizer application, apply water-saving irrigation systems, use mulch or cover the roots with straw for crops...
Prepare sufficient quantities of seeds for the crop, especially high-yield, good-quality, short-term, drought-resistant, and pest-resistant varieties; strengthen inspection and management of agricultural input materials (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.) to ensure production requirements.
Closely monitor weather conditions, crop calendars and local variety structures, especially drought-tolerant varieties.

For rice: Maintain sufficient water on the surface of the field for the rice plants during the panicle formation, flowering, and grain formation stages to limit the impact of heat. For rice areas that are ready for harvest, harvest quickly and neatly with the motto "green at home is better than old in the field" to avoid damage caused by storms; regularly check the fields, promptly detect and proactively prevent harmful pests and diseases such as: rice blast, brown planthopper, white-backed planthopper, small leaf roller, black-striped dwarf disease, etc.
For highland corn crops: Arrange to finish planting in May, limit corn plants from flowering and silking during the hot season, affecting productivity and output.
For industrial crops and fruit trees: Promote investment, intensive farming, apply advanced farming techniques, mechanize production; care, prune branches, create canopy, use water-saving irrigation systems; increase the use of organic fertilizers, produce according to processes, with certification to improve efficiency and product quality.
