Open bank accounts, award scholarships to disadvantaged students in Si Ma Cai

On the afternoon of May 9, the District Youth Union, the District Social Policy Bank and the Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities in Si Ma Cai district organized a program to implement the "Digital Education for All" movement, opened payment accounts and awarded scholarships to students in difficult circumstances to support the exam season for candidates.

At the program, the Social Policy Bank of Si Ma Cai district supported the opening of bank accounts and guided students to download and use digital banking applications on mobile phones. Supported students are those of legal age (16 years old and above), especially grade 12 students.

The program was held at the Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities in Si Ma Cai district.

In addition, students at the school are also introduced to policies on money transfer and online payment; preferential loan policies for students as well as instructions on security and proper and safe use of digital bank accounts.

In the coming time, the Social Policy Bank of Si Ma Cai district will continue to coordinate with schools to open accounts for students of age in need to create favorable conditions for students to access preferential loans.

Opening an account also helps schools transfer support funds directly into students' accounts more conveniently, while improving students' digital skills before entering the post-high school stage.

On the occasion of the 2025 national high school graduation exam, the Social Policy Bank of Si Ma Cai district awarded scholarships to support the exam season to 10 students in difficult circumstances. The scholarship money will be transferred directly to the students' bank accounts after they have successfully opened an account.

This is one of the activities to improve digital skills for people in general and students in particular, contributing to the implementation and replication of the "Digital Education for All" model in Si Ma Cai district organized by the District Youth Union in coordination with other units.
