Mr. Pham Van Muoi, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said: "In recent times, the province has always strived and prioritized attracting investment in high-tech and green agricultural projects, especially deep processing technologies, linked to raw material areas, in order to increase the added value of export products."
Expanding markets and enhancing competitiveness.
To support businesses in expanding their market share in traditional markets and seeking new potential markets, the province is implementing many innovative solutions to improve the effectiveness of trade promotion through international trade fairs and exhibitions. Specifically, this includes supporting businesses to directly participate in overseas goods distribution networks; strengthening the building and development of brands and trademarks, protecting intellectual property and geographical indications; promoting e-commerce, innovating trade promotion and goods distribution on digital platforms, and boosting exports through e-commerce channels.
The province is stepping up innovation and improving the effectiveness of trade promotion through international fairs and exhibitions, supporting businesses in expanding traditional markets and seeking potential markets.
Despite achieving many results in the production, processing, and export of goods, especially agricultural products, the export market is predicted to face many difficulties in the coming period due to the impact of the global situation, especially fluctuations in fuel prices.
"To adapt to these challenges, the Department of Industry and Trade will coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to strengthen propaganda and promote businesses to adopt cleaner production and use energy efficiently and effectively. We will regularly exchange information and understand the difficulties and obstacles faced by businesses in order to provide timely support or propose solutions for the Provincial People's Committee to consider," Mr. Duong Vu Nam emphasized.
In addition, over the past period, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has coordinated with other departments, sectors, and localities to develop safe, standardized, and large-scale raw material production areas; and applied modern technical processes in production. Mr. Pham Van Muoi said: "The Department of Agriculture and Environment guides organizations and individuals in building and developing safe agricultural product supply chains, strictly controlling production processes and the quality of input materials in crop cultivation, livestock farming, and aquaculture; linking the processing of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products with traceability to meet regulations, standards, and food safety standards of export markets."
Resolutely combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing is one of the solutions the province has implemented for many years to ensure export conditions to the European market.
“We will continue to implement resolute measures to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing to ensure export conditions to the European market. At the same time, we will coordinate with relevant departments, agencies, and OCOP (One Commune One Product) entities to improve production capacity and meet export-oriented standards,” Mr. Pham Van Muoi added.
Boosting exports from the province is a crucial factor contributing to economic growth, production development, and enhanced competitiveness of businesses; it also shifts the export structure towards sustainability, increasing the proportion of deeply processed products with high added value. This effectively leverages the potential and advantages of Ca Mau province.
