Strengthening university training cooperation in ASEAN countries

On November 19, Can Tho University coordinated with the ASEAN University Council to organize the 7th ASEAN+3 Rectors' Conference, with the participation of a network of more than 30 universities from ASEAN countries and partners from Japan, Korea, and China.

At the conference, leaders of universities and international organizations presented, discussed and shared experiences in training and scientific research associated with the development practices of each country and region.

The priority areas for training cooperation include: sustainable agriculture , fisheries and food security; climate change adaptation, water resources management and biodiversity; artificial intelligence (AI), drone technology and data platforms serving education, agriculture, and disaster response.

Within the framework of the program, university leaders visited laboratories and real models at Can Tho University; attended the launching ceremony of the UAV & Robot Innovation Laboratory in Agriculture at Can Tho University.

The conference aims to strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions in the ASEAN region and three partner countries (Japan, South Korea and China) through high-level diplomatic activities between university leaders.

The event creates a strategic forum for presidents to exchange visions, share experiences in university governance, and shape the direction of higher education development in the context of regional integration and global transformation.
