Strengthening cooperation between Da Nang and Oakland (USA)

On the afternoon of August 2, chairing the meeting with Ms. Sheng Thao, Mayor of Oakland City and a delegation of businesses from California State (USA), Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh informed about the socio-economic situation and introduced the areas that Da Nang is focusing on developing and attracting investment: information technology, high-tech industry, innovative startups, seaports, airports, tourism, services, education , and healthcare.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee highly appreciated the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the United States in general, and Da Nang and Oakland in particular. The two cities have had a cooperative relationship since 2005, and currently many US businesses are investing and operating effectively in Da Nang . The city government always creates the best conditions for foreign investors in general, and the United States in particular.

This is also an opportunity for the two sides to further strengthen their cooperative relationship, as well as promote effective investment in the coming time. The Chairman of the City People's Committee hopes that Mayor Sheng Thao will act as a bridge to introduce and promote businesses and partners of Oakland City as well as the United States to Da Nang to survey the environment and seek cooperation and investment opportunities in potential fields. Thereby, two working groups will be established to connect and facilitate the process of economic exchange and cooperation in various fields.

Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao thanked the city leaders for their warm welcome, saying that this trip would strengthen the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the United States and between Oakland and Da Nang.

Mayor Sheng Thao agreed to establish two working groups as proposed by Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh and affirmed that they will act as a bridge to promote the development of friendly and cooperative relations between Oakland and Da Nang cities to achieve many good results.
