Banks have effectively implemented the provision of foreign exchange services, collecting and exchanging foreign currency to serve the needs of foreign tourists; strengthened coordination in inspection, promptly detected and strictly handled violations in the buying and selling of foreign currency, gold and the collection and exchange of money not in accordance with the law.
Strengthen inspection of foreign exchange trading activities
The State Bank of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City branch, requires banks to focus resources on organizing the operation of the payment system, ensuring continuous, stable, safe and smooth operations; meeting the increased payment demand before and during Tet, ensuring the security and safety of the payment system and the confidentiality of customer information data. Banks closely monitor the cash receipts and disbursements in the system to promptly have a solution, fully meeting the cash needs of customers before, during and after Tet. Banks handle situations that occur when the demand for cash withdrawals is high, concentrated around Tet, to avoid situations where ATMs run out of money or are not working due to subjective errors of the bank.
Banks meet the credit capital needs for production and business of people and enterprises, there is no negativity in credit supply, continue to strictly control and effectively credit for areas with potential risks, group interests, cross-ownership, etc.
In addition, credit institutions must not organize visits, New Year greetings, or give gifts to leaders of units at all levels; must not attend pagodas or festivals if not assigned; must not participate in superstitious activities; must not use state budget, vehicles, or public assets to attend festivals or personal activities during Tet or festivals, etc.
