(QBĐT) - The Provincial Police Department has just chaired a conference to sign a regulation on coordination in ensuring traffic safety and order in the province between three units, including the Provincial Police Department, the Department of Transport and the Departmentof Education and Training.
The signing of the coordination regulations aims to synchronously and effectively implement Plan No. 156/KH-UBND, dated January 25, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Directive No. 31/CT-TTg, dated December 21, 2023 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the work of ensuring traffic safety for school-age children in the new situation.

Accordingly, the three units will coordinate to conduct a general review of traffic organization, traffic infrastructure; schools located on national highways to create a list and classify unsafe school crossings; review and supplement standards, regulations, technical requirements in traffic organization, speed limits at connection points in school areas; organize the signing of commitments for students, parents, staff, teachers, and employees to strictly comply with traffic safety laws.
Strengthening the propaganda and dissemination of traffic safety law education in educational institutions; improving knowledge and skills in safe traffic participation for students, parents, staff and teachers.

Strengthen patrolling and control work, promptly detect and handle violations of traffic safety, especially violations that pose a risk of causing accidents for students; in case of student violations, send a notice to the school for appropriate handling and educational measures; strictly handle cases of parents who pick up and drop off their children violating traffic safety.
Regularly inspect, urge, and strengthen coordination between functional sectors and authorities at all levels to grasp the situation and area, effectively carry out management work; recommend and propose solutions to ensure traffic safety for students in the new situation.

The signing and implementation of the above coordination contents aim to ensure traffic safety for school-age children, in accordance with local characteristics; minimize traffic accidents, limit to the lowest level serious traffic accidents for school-age children; establish order and discipline in compliance with traffic laws in the new situation.
