Strengthening state management of domestic violence prevention and control

In recent times, the Commune People's Committee, together with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, have strengthened propaganda and education on domestic violence prevention and control with various contents and forms such as: Propagating on the radio system and electronic information pages about contents related to family work such as: Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control; Law on Gender Equality; the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on family work in the new situation; integrating into the activities of self-managed people's groups, activities of branches, associations, clubs, groups, and on social networking sites managed by socio-political organizations.

(ABO) On April 23, the Supervisory Delegation of the Women's Union of Tien Giang province, led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Tien, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, had a supervision session with the People's Committee of Song Binh commune, Cho Gao district on the responsibility of state management of domestic violence prevention and control; prevention and control of gender-based violence in the locality according to Articles 46 and 50 of the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control 2022. The Supervisory Delegation was attended by representatives of provincial departments and branches.

As a result, in 2023 and 2024, 276 propaganda sessions were held, with over 8,000 attendees, and propaganda on the radio had an estimated 6,800 listeners.

Along with that, the commune maintains 2 happy family clubs; builds a model of trusted addresses; shelters and 7 reconciliation groups in hamlets. In general, the work of preventing and combating domestic violence in the commune has had a strong change, people's awareness and consciousness have been raised; therefore, in the past year, in Song Binh commune, there has been no domestic violence case.

At the monitoring session, members of the Delegation together with the People's Committee of Song Binh commune also focused on discussing, analyzing, clarifying the causes and measures to overcome some difficulties and limitations in the implementation process.

In her concluding remarks, Comrade Nguyen Thi Kieu Tien, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, requested that in the coming time, the People's Committee of Song Binh commune continue to promote the results achieved in the past time. At the same time, strengthen the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the government; especially promote the role and responsibility of sectors and organizations in preventing and combating domestic violence, building prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized families.
