Increase about 2.3 million doses of vaccine to prevent diseases for spring livestock in Hai Duong

Compared to last spring, this year the whole province vaccinated over 3.9 million doses of vaccine for poultry, over 2 million doses higher than last year.

According to the Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Veterinary Medicine of Hai Duong province (Department of Agriculture and Environment), Hai Duong has completed vaccination for the 2025 spring crop for livestock and poultry, as planned.

The whole province has injected nearly 4.3 million doses of various vaccines, of which avian influenza reached over 3.9 million doses, classical African swine fever 107,660 doses, African swine fever 15,000 doses, swine erysipelas 80,890 doses... Compared to last spring, there was an increase of about 2.3 million doses, of which poultry increased the most with over 2 million doses of vaccine.

The reason is that the total livestock herd this year has increased compared to last year. The selling price is stable and profitable, so farmers pay more attention to vaccination.

In addition to the number of vaccines provided by the department (about 3.36 million doses), households also buy additional vaccines to proactively vaccinate their pets.

This is the second time the province has provided free African swine fever vaccines to people to vaccinate their pigs, in order to create mass immunity, limit the risk of virus infection, and give people peace of mind when raising pigs. African swine fever vaccines are one of the most expensive vaccines today, about 60,000 VND/dose, so farmers can save a lot of money.

Along with vaccination, the provincial Department of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Veterinary Medicine also guides people to continue to implement measures to disinfect, sterilize, clean livestock barns, proactively prevent and protect livestock and poultry from the sun... to achieve high efficiency in livestock farming.
