Each final item of Long Thanh airport terminal is being rushed to completion, thousands of engineers and workers working day and night to meet the finish line.

In mid-August, at the Long Thanh airport construction site ( Dong Nai ), more than 13,000 engineers and workers were divided into hundreds of construction teams, working in 3 shifts and 4 teams continuously. With the basic goal of completing the project by the end of 2025, putting it into commercial operation in the first half of 2026 as requested by the Prime Minister.

In package 5.10 (Passenger Terminal - PV), implemented by the VIETUR consortium, construction started in July 2023, according to the contract, the completion schedule is November 30, 2026 (39 months). However, the contractor is striving to complete the construction part before December 31, 2025, then will proceed with the inter-connection, acceptance and test run of the imported aviation equipment system, synchronous coupling.

According to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the entire reinforced concrete structure of the underground part and floors 1, 2, 3, and 4 have been completed, creating the foundation for the implementation of the next items.

The central station area has completed 100% of the reinforced concrete structure, 96% of the rough construction, 99% of the roof steel structure and the first layer of roof has been sealed for waterproofing, serving the mechanical and electrical construction.

The three terminal wings are also completely finished with reinforced concrete structure, rough construction reaching 93%, roof waterproofing completed. The glass wall facade with steel frame support is 93.8% complete, 100% complete in the wings and 86.9% in the central area.

Inside the passenger terminal, engineers and workers are working hard to install important items such as fire protection systems, air conditioning, lighting, elevators, escalators, etc. As of early August, the fire protection pipeline system has been installed at about 75% of its volume.

At the same time, the construction units also deployed the installation and completion of the automatic baggage handling system (BHS) and other technical equipment, ensuring synchronization with the general progress of the station.

The working atmosphere inside the passenger terminal is urgent, construction units mobilize maximum human resources and machinery, working continuously.

Outside the passenger terminal, in package 4.9, the construction of the fuel supply system is being accelerated. According to ACV, the goal is to complete the pipeline system outside the apron by the end of October 2025 so as not to affect the progress of other packages, and to basically complete the construction before December 31, 2025.

The installation, connection and testing of some imported equipment such as valve systems, pumps and fuel pipes are expected to be completed in March 2026, 3 months shorter than the contract.

In parallel with the main items, Package 11.5 (Parking Garage) is being constructed by the Joint Venture of Construction Corporation No. 1 - Coteccons - Fecon from March 7, 2025, expected to be completed in June 2026. To date, the joint venture has completed the pile part, constructed 160/1,215 foundations and the basement and ground floor beam system. Underground MEPF items are also being implemented synchronously according to the progress of the basement and ground floor structures.

The bridge project at the passenger terminal has taken shape. According to the design, the project will have 32 bridge bridges, arranged at 40 nearby parking positions, to accommodate Code C, E and F aircraft.

Long Thanh International Airport is being built in Dong Nai Province and is expected to be the largest airport in Vietnam when completed with a designed capacity of up to 100 million passengers per year. According to the plan, the project will be basically completed, ensuring standards and conditions for inauguration according to regulations on December 19, 2025.
