Create conditions for female intellectuals to participate in research and development of science and technology

In Document 4324/VPCP-QHDP, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the Ministry of Science and Technology to pay attention to and support creating favorable conditions for ordering appropriate scientific and technological tasks so that the Vietnam Association of Intellectual Women and Vietnamese female scientists can participate in research and contribute to the development of science and technology and innovation.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Science and Technology to preside over and coordinate with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and relevant ministries and agencies to guide the Vietnam Association of Intellectual Women to proactively propose orders for science and technology tasks in accordance with legal regulations and other support measures in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union closely coordinates with relevant agencies to support and facilitate the Vietnam Association of Intellectual Women to research and mobilize resources to soon establish a Fund to support young female scientists, ensuring that there are sufficient conditions and documents as prescribed in Articles 10 and 15 of Decree No. 93/2019/ND-CP dated November 25, 2019 of the Government on the organization and operation of social funds and charity funds; promptly report to competent authorities on issues beyond their authority.

Vietnamese women have made significant contributions and increasingly affirmed their position and role in the development of science and technology. Currently, the number of female intellectuals participating in scientific research has increased (accounting for about 46% of the total research and development workforce of the country), with many works of high theoretical and practical value. Many female scientists and young female professors have been honored by international organizations.

Over the years, the Vietnam Women's Union has carried out many activities to promote gender equality in science and technology. Typically, the activities of selecting and awarding the Kovalevskaya Prize; thereby honoring female scientists with outstanding research works, female business owners with high achievements in the application of science and technology...

The Vietnam Women's Union at the central and local levels has carried out scientific research projects that are both theoretical and practical; contributing to innovation, improving the quality of the Union's activities and supporting women in accessing science, technology and innovation, bringing products to market.

In particular, through the Prime Minister's Project to Support Women in Starting a Business for the 2017-2025 period (Project 939), after nearly 7 years of implementation, more than 72,000 women have been supported to start businesses and start businesses; 1,470 women's enterprises, nearly 12,000 cooperatives, cooperative groups, and joint groups have been newly established; more than 45,000 women's enterprises have been consulted, trained, and connected to access capital sources of over 400 billion VND.

The annual National Women's Startup Competition has had 147 women's startup projects win prizes, of which 10 projects are related to science, technology and innovation, promoting cultural and traditional values, creating unique products and services, creating Vietnamese brands, introducing to all regions of the country and international friends...
