On the afternoon of November 3, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, received Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam Urawadee Sriphiromya. Also attending the meeting were Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City Wiraka Moodhitaporn and leaders of several Thai businesses.
Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam Urawadee Sriphiromya conveyed the deep gratitude of the Thai Royal Family for the affection and sharing of the City's leaders in the past time. At the same time, he highly appreciated the role of Ho Chi Minh City - a dynamic economic center with the most attractive investment environment in Vietnam. It is home to a large number of Thai enterprises operating effectively in many fields such as industry, energy, retail, and financial services.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam also emphasized that the Vietnam-Thailand friendship is developing strongly, aiming to upgrade to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Especially on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2026. The Ambassador believes that economic, cultural and trade exchange activities between the two countries will continue to be expanded, contributing to strengthening the strong cooperative relationship in the region.
Within the framework of the working session, representatives of Amata Group - one of the major Thai investors in Vietnam - had a remarkable exchange.
Mr. Vikrom Kromadit, Founder - Chairman and CEO of Amata Group shared that, after more than 35 years of investing in industrial park infrastructure development, Amata has developed industrial parks with a scale of more than 140 km2, attracting over 1,600 factories in many countries, contributing tens of billions of USD to regional economic growth.

In Vietnam, Amata has planned to invest more than 1.5 billion USD, of which more than half is concentrated in Dong Nai province. The company currently has more than 200 customers operating in Amata's industrial parks in the North, Central and South of Vietnam.
Amata representative in Vietnam – Ms. Somhatai Panichewa expressed her desire to continue expanding investment, especially interested in developing a new industrial park in Chau Duc district, former Ba Ria – Vung Tau province (now Ho Chi Minh City). This project is expected to have a total investment capital of at least 180 million USD, focusing on high-tech and logistics industries, aiming at a smart industrial park – urban model.
Amata representative said that the company has cooperated with a Japanese consulting unit to study the feasibility and master plan for the project. The company expects to receive support, guidance and facilitation from the Ho Chi Minh City government in promoting, connecting and completing investment procedures in this locality.
Amata Group representatives also sent an invitation to the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to visit the "Amata smart cities" in Thailand or the Amata Bien Hoa industrial park to learn about the development model that the group is implementing. Because Amata wants to bring its experience in modern, green and sustainable urban-industrial development to Vietnam in the coming period.
Speaking at the reception, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc affirmed that the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Thailand has always been valued and promoted by the City in the spirit of friendship and mutual development.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Thailand is currently the 9th largest investor in Vietnam, reflecting the closeness and trust between the business communities of the two countries in many fields such as industry, trade, tourism and aviation. Thai goods are increasingly favored by Vietnamese consumers. In addition, trade, tourism and people-to-people exchange activities between the two countries are taking place vigorously, contributing to deepening the bilateral friendship.
As for Ho Chi Minh City, after the process of administrative unit arrangement, the City is expanding its development space, creating more room for investment and production. In the regional development orientation, Binh Duong (old) is identified as an industrial center, while Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old) plays a key role in marine economic growth, focusing on the fields of energy, petrochemicals, logistics and industrial parks.
Ho Chi Minh City leaders affirmed that the city always accompanies investors, considering the success of enterprises as the success of the locality. The city government is committed to creating the most favorable conditions in terms of procedures, infrastructure and connections for foreign enterprises – including Thai enterprises – to operate effectively and sustainably.
Regarding the proposal of Amata Group to invest in a new industrial park in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee welcomed this policy, assessing this project as suitable for the industrial and logistics development orientation of the region.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to coordinate and guide Amata to work with relevant agencies to review the planning and complete the documents according to regulations.
City leaders believe that with Amata's experience and capacity in developing modern industrial and urban zones, if implemented, this project will contribute to promoting regional connectivity and creating momentum for economic development in the Southern region.
The head of the Ho Chi Minh City government also expressed his wish to continue expanding cooperation with Thai businesses in the fields of high technology, smart cities and green energy – industries that are in line with the city's sustainable development orientation.
