Attending the opening ceremony of the training course were Ms. Ngo Thi Bich Hanh - Provincial Party Committee member, President of the Provincial Women's Union; Dr. Vu Nguyen Thuc - Lecturer of the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi ; and 70 trainees who are Union officials at the provincial, commune and ward levels, along with lecturers and experts from the Central Union.

The training course was organized within the framework of the National Target Program on New Rural Development for the 2021-2025 period, aiming at the goal of sustainable rural development with "ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers". In particular, this is one of the activities to concretize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "breakthrough in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation", at the same time, implementing the first breakthrough in the Resolution of the 13th National Women's Congress - "Innovating the Association's operation methods, focusing on the application of information technology".

The training course takes place over 2 days: November 10-11.

Participating in the training course, trainees learned about the topics: "Digital transformation in agriculture and rural areas: current situation and issues"; an overview of the National Target Program on new rural construction for the period 2021 - 2025 and orientation for the period 2026 - 2030; digital transformation, community digital skills for commune-level Association officials and skills in applying artificial intelligence (AI) in work, helping trainees have more practical tools to carry out tasks at the grassroots level; skills to ensure information security in cyberspace, instructions on using and practicing software to manage association officials, instructions on cleaning member data, etc.

Speaking at the opening of the training course, Comrade Ngo Thi Bich Hanh - Provincial Party Committee member, President of the Provincial Women's Union affirmed that digital transformation is not only about applying technology but also a comprehensive change in the thinking and operation methods of the Union organization. Each Union official needs to become a "digital transformation ambassador", proactively spreading knowledge, skills and innovation spirit to each branch and member; contributing to promoting the "Digital Literacy for All" movement launched by the Central Union. This movement aims to popularize basic digital skills, helping women confidently participate in digital government, digital economy and digital society. Equipping grassroots Union officials with digital knowledge and skills will practically contribute to helping Lai Chau women be more proactive in their work, applying technology to production, management and life, contributing to building smart new rural areas.

Lecturer Ho Khanh Le - Women's Affairs Department, Central Committee of Vietnam Women's Union delivered the content of Digital Transformation in Agriculture and Rural Areas.

Through the training course, trainees not only updated with new knowledge but also had the opportunity to exchange, share experiences, and resolve difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing digital transformation in the locality. Thereby, applying digital transformation in new rural construction in Lai Chau will help overcome geographical limitations, create conditions for agricultural product consumption, promote OCOP products, and at the same time, support women in remote areas to access public services, study and start online businesses more conveniently.
