Focus on solutions to respond to heavy rain, flash floods and landslides

- During the days from May 16-19, 2025, moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain occurred in some places in the province (in Na Hang town: 312 mm; Thanh Tuong commune: 170 mm; Phuc Son commune, Lam Binh district: 175 mm...) causing damage to housing and agricultural production of people in the province.

According to the forecast of the Department of Hydrometeorology, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, from May 22 to 25, the Northern regions, including Tuyen Quang province, are likely to experience widespread heavy rain, with rainfall ranging from 100 - 250mm, in some places over 350mm; there may be localized rain with high intensity (over 100mm in 3 hours).

Heavy rains pose a high risk of causing flooding in low-lying areas, densely populated areas (wards, towns), industrial parks; flash floods on small streams and landslides in steep slopes. To proactively prevent, combat and deploy solutions, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requests: The Chairman of the District and City People's Committee shall preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Construction, the Provincial Military Command, and the Provincial Police to direct a thorough review of residential areas, promptly detect areas at risk of insecurity, especially areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, flash floods, and deep flooding; proactively arrange forces and means, resolutely evacuate people from dangerous areas, areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and flash floods, to ensure safety, life, and property for the people.

Maintain strict on-call duty, proactively review plans and strategies for responding to natural disasters and search and rescue, avoid being passive or surprised, especially with the risk of floods, landslides, flash floods, and landslides.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment strictly implements the on-call regime and provides weather information to localities in the province. Coordinates with districts and cities to synthesize and send detailed information on people's livelihood, economic and social activities, and sensitive works that may be affected by natural disasters in the province to the Department of Hydrometeorology for timely forecasting, warning, and support in directing, operating, and preventing natural disasters.
