DTO - After the merger, My An Hung commune mobilized many resources to invest in agricultural development. The commune will focus on building, repairing, and upgrading synchronous rural agricultural infrastructure, increasing the rate of mechanization in agricultural production, and implementing models to adapt to climate change... Thereby, contributing to increasing productivity, product quality, improving production value per unit area, and increasing income for people.


Recently, My An Hung commune has focused on promoting the strengths of taro growing areas to increase people's income.

Promoting agricultural potential

My An Hung commune has a total of 12,530 households with 54,810 people, people mainly live on agricultural production.

With the determination of the entire political system, My An Hung commune is focusing on promoting its agricultural strengths. In particular, developing the color zone (taro with a production area of about 1,000 hectares/year, young corn with a production area of about 230 hectares, fruit tree area (over 1,000 hectares of mango, jackfruit, orange, longan...) in a concentrated, safe and sustainable direction is an important task.

Currently, there are 4 stable cooperatives operating in the commune, including: Tan My Agricultural Service Cooperative; My An Hung A Agricultural Service Cooperative; Hoi An Dong Agricultural Service Cooperative; Dong Thap Green Crayfish Seed Production Cooperative. At the same time, there are 4 regular meeting halls, including: Nhon Tam Meeting Hall; An Hung Meeting Hall; Tan Hung Meeting Hall; Tan Hoa Meeting Hall. Notably, My An Hung A Agricultural Service Cooperative participates in the implementation of the province's key color production area (126 hectares); Hoi An Dong Agricultural Service Cooperative produces taro, shallots, and chili in a safe direction, registers planting area codes, and traces origins...

Ms. Le Thanh Nga - a farmer living in My An Hung commune who produces more than 5 hectares of taro in the autumn-winter crop with limited use of chemical fertilizers said: "Thanks to the investment in the irrigation system, farmers can proactively source water for irrigation and control floods, thereby improving crop productivity and quality, ensuring stable production."

Mr. Le Minh Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of My An Hung commune said: "The production and business activities of the cooperative economic sector in the commune are developing, especially agricultural cooperatives promoting production and linking along the value chain to increase productivity and output, especially in the consumption and building of product brands, labels and reducing input costs. Cooperatives are also flexible in opening new services to serve the living needs of members, promoting effectiveness in changing the way of thinking, working, improving production efficiency towards a sustainable agricultural development and creating jobs for local workers".

Many solutions for agricultural development

According to the People's Committee of My An Hung commune, in the coming time, to increase the value of agricultural production, the locality will promote the dissemination of the Project on restructuring the agricultural sector towards sustainability. Along with that, deploy the core contents of the Project on restructuring the agricultural sector and the agricultural production development plan to create consensus in the implementation process of the commune to the departments, branches, commune unions, hamlets and people with appropriate methods and forms.

In addition, the commune focuses on investing in dredging irrigation combined with roads to form solid dykes to ensure that specialized production areas meet the requirements for cultivation (irrigation, drainage, mechanization) and transporting products and goods when linking consumption with businesses; mobilizing public-private partnerships to develop rural transportation and electricity systems to serve agricultural production and business; strengthening training and transferring techniques on production processes for crops and livestock, especially production according to safety standards to create products that ensure food hygiene and safety, meeting market requirements; focusing on production according to safe and sustainable processes for agricultural products: mango, orange, taro, vegetables. In addition, during the production process, appropriate production management measures will be transferred to limit environmental pollution.

Mr. Nguyen Phu Nhuan - Director of Hoi An Dong Agricultural Service Cooperative said: "In the coming time, to limit the situation of good harvest but low price, the unit will prioritize the production and processing of agricultural products in a safe direction for pickled onions, taro, and chili products. In particular, focusing on investing in equipment and machinery for production and processing of agricultural products. Through a period of efforts, the unit's pickled onions and taro products meet OCOP standards. At the same time, we will continue to research the market for agricultural products; focus on supporting farmers in safe agricultural production; participate in many trade promotion programs to introduce and promote products...".

Mr. Le Minh Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of My An Hung commune shared: "The locality will continue to invite businesses to participate in linking, consuming, and processing agricultural products to invest in implementing linkage models on agricultural products such as rice, corn, taro, fruit trees; create favorable conditions for businesses to invest in building long-term agricultural raw material areas in the area and access support policies of the State. At the same time, promote and introduce agricultural products with large output to domestic and foreign markets to find stable output. Provide financial support for cooperatives to build product brands, participate in fairs, participate in competitions...
