Kyodo News reported that the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft left the International Space Station (ISS) in space and returned safely to Earth on the evening of March 11.
SpaceX Crew Dragon has four crew members, including Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Koichi Wakata of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Anna Kikina of the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos). The ship was launched to the ISS in October last year with the purpose of conducting research and maintaining the laboratory on the ISS.
The flight is part of a joint agreement between NASA and Roscosmos in July 2022. Despite geopolitical tensions between the US and Russia following the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, NASA said its partnership with Roscosmos is vital to maintaining the space station’s operations and conducting valuable scientific research.
