According to updated data from the Vrian automatic rain gauge system, the North and most of the Central region today, May 13, will maintain a clear, sunny and relatively pleasant climate. The North will even be somewhat dry and cool, with no signs of heat.

Meanwhile, from Quang Nam region onwards, rain has appeared quite regularly, stretching from the Central Coast, the Central Highlands to a part of the South. These rains have helped bring a significant source of irrigation water for agricultural production, especially perennial crops that need water after a long period of drought.

Some places have recorded heavy rainfall:

  • Kon Tum (Pleikrong Hydroelectric Dam): 87mm
  • Phu Yen (Hoa Tam): 82.6mm
  • Quang Ngai (Ba Nam): 80.8mm
  • Bac Lieu (Pho Sinh): 70.8mm
  • Ca Mau: 54.2mm
  • Quang Nam (Tra Don): 44.4mm

Many other provinces also had moderate rain such as Binh Thuan, Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Tien Giang... Although the rainfall in some areas was not large, it contributed to cooling down, supporting production and daily life.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting updated that in the Central Highlands and the South, this evening there will continue to be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain of 15-30mm, some places over 50mm. The meteorological agency warned people to be on guard against extreme weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, strong gusts of wind, and hail. Areas with steep terrain and low-lying areas should proactively prevent flash floods, landslides, and localized flooding.

According to meteorological experts, the southern region has officially entered the transitional season, with steady rains and widespread spread. This is the time to make the most of natural water resources for production. However, along with the rain comes the risk of local natural disasters. Therefore, people should not be subjective about tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds, even though the overall rainfall is not too heavy. From now until the end of the week, the rain will continue in the southern region. People continue to closely monitor developments to proactively plan their planting and prevent natural disaster risks.
