Central ENT Hospital provides professional support to Provincial General Hospital

At the meeting, the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital and the Provincial General Hospital discussed plans for professional support, training, and technology transfer in the coming time, and signed a support contract between the two units.

The cooperation support activities with the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital will contribute to improving the professional capacity of medical staff at Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital, helping people access and use high-quality medical services of the Central level right in their locality.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Tuan Canh, Director of the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, affirmed that he is always ready to support training, professional guidance and technical transfer to the Provincial General Hospital.

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital is the hospital's key department, which has been heavily invested in human resources and specialized equipment to meet the medical examination and treatment needs of people in the province and the region.

Comrade Pham Van Thinh, Director of the Provincial General Hospital, thanked the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital for its attention and support, and hoped that experienced medical experts would help transfer advanced techniques in the field of ear, nose and throat to the Provincial General Hospital.

In 2024, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the Provincial General Hospital received more than 10,000 medical examinations, of which more than 1,800 were inpatients, and performed 912 surgeries. The Department has implemented many techniques such as: tonsillectomy; adenoidectomy; endoscopic surgery to correct nasal septum; endoscopic microsurgery of the larynx to remove fibrous nodules and cysts; endoscopic sinus surgery, simple tympanic patching; endoscopic surgery to correct nasal turbinate; rhinoplasty...

At the meeting, the Provincial General Hospital proposed that the Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital support the transfer of some techniques such as: advanced endoscopic sinus surgery such as frontal sinus surgery, sphenoid sinus surgery; middle ear surgery: mastoidectomy - tympanoplasty, mastoidectomy, middle ear reconstruction, etc.
