The Department of Construction of Tay Ninh province has just issued a document proposing the Provincial People's Committee to invest in key traffic routes connecting to Ho Chi Minh City after the merger and rearrangement of administrative boundaries.
According to the report of the Department of Construction, Tay Ninh province and Ho Chi Minh City after the merger have 37 road connection points. Of which, 11 points were agreed to be prioritized for investment in the period 2023 - 2025, to date, 2 routes have been completed: DT.826E road connecting Long Hau road and DT.824 road connecting Nguyen Van Bua road, Ho Chi Minh City.
Ho Chi Minh City is expanding National Highway 50 to connect synchronously with Tay Ninh. |
After the merger, the Department of Construction proposed that the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee prioritize investment in 9 important projects connecting with Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, the People's Committee worked with Ho Chi Minh City to agree that both sides would prioritize investment in these projects.
9 projects are proposed for early investment, including: new Northwest road and DT.823 D; East-West axis (Vo Van Kiet) connecting to Duc Hoa dynamic axis; expansion of National Highway 50; National Highway 50B; Connection of Le Van Luong - DT.826C road; Provincial Road 6 - Provincial Road 15 and DT.789; Binh Duong - Tay Ninh dynamic axis (Bau Bang - Moc Bai): Route and connecting bridge No. 1 (National Highway 56B); Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway.
According to the Tay Ninh Department of Construction, currently, some projects through Tay Ninh province have been invested in, but Ho Chi Minh City has not invested yet, so there is no synchronous connection between the two localities, causing difficulties in trade connection.
For example, Tay Ninh province has invested in the new Northwest and DT.823D road projects, with a scale of 6 lanes, expected to be completed by the end of 2025. However, Ho Chi Minh City has not invested in a new Northwest road to synchronously connect the two projects.
Or like Vo Van Kiet Street extended to Duc Hoa dynamic axis, currently the section adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City is about 4.7 km long (Hai Son - Tan Do Street) has been invested by Tay Ninh province to complete 6 lanes.
Tay Ninh province is expected to continue investing in the remaining 23.5 km section with a scale of 8-10 lanes. However, Ho Chi Minh City has not yet invested in the section from Vo Van Kiet Street to connect with Tay Ninh.
