Tay Ninh: Supporting 289 disabled women to start businesses and start businesses

Supporting women in starting and developing businesses is carried out by the Women's Unions at all levels in Tay Ninh province in many different ways. Based on the survey results of women's needs for starting and developing businesses, the Provincial and District Women's Unions have organized and coordinated with relevant sectors to deploy 63 training courses, attracting 2,776 members and women to participate.

The Provincial Women's Union coordinated with the Central Women's Union and Unilever Vietnam to implement the program "Vietnamese women are confident in doing business " and provided training on starting a business based on the home-based economic development model for 200 members and women in the area. In addition, the Union also coordinated to organize 4 training courses to improve poverty reduction capacity, attracting 226 trainees who are commune-level Women's Union officials, poor women and members and leaders of cooperatives and cooperative groups.

In particular, it has mobilized and supported capital for 3,576 women to start businesses and start businesses with an amount of more than 25.1 billion VND. Of which, support for plants, animals, seeds, raw materials, machinery and equipment worth 1.5 billion VND.

In addition, the Women's Union at all levels of Tay Ninh province has also coordinated and supported the establishment of 34 cooperatives managed by women. In coordination with the Provincial Cooperative Union, 4 training courses on collective economic knowledge, cooperative models, business start-up plans, etc. were organized for 230 district/commune level Union officials; members of cooperatives, cooperative groups, and production linkage groups with women participating in the management, operation, and leadership of cooperatives, creating many jobs for female workers.

According to the representative of the Tay Ninh Provincial Women's Union, the implementation of Project 939 has always received attention, direction, support and facilitation from Party committees and authorities at all levels. The Unions at all levels are flexible, creative, proactive and closely coordinate with relevant sectors to effectively carry out tasks.

Through the Project’s activities, women’s awareness of entrepreneurship and creative business has been significantly improved. More and more members are boldly proposing business ideas, confidently starting and developing businesses. In particular, many women with the support of the Association have successfully developed their businesses, creating stable income, contributing to improving the quality of life, and creating jobs for hundreds of local female workers. These results have had a positive impact on the implementation of the goals of poverty reduction, new rural construction and sustainable socio-economic development.
