Tay Ninh aims for green growth

On the morning of November 14, 2025, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Lam had a meeting and worked with the working delegation of the Korea Environment Corporation (KECO) led by Mr. Cha Kwang Myoung - Vice Chairman of KECO. Attending the meeting were leaders of relevant departments and branches of Tay Ninh province and members of the KECO delegation.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Lam emphasized that Tay Ninh is a locality with a strategic position in the Southern key economic region, with strong potential in industry, high-tech agriculture and tourism. In addition to economic development, the province always identifies environmental protection and waste management towards a circular economy as key tasks. The implementation of the project funded by KOICA and KECO as a consultant is an important step to help Tay Ninh optimize its capacity for integrated waste management, promote classification, collection, recycling and raise public awareness about turning waste into resources.

The project "Piloting the classification of domestic waste at source and promoting resource circulation in Tay Ninh province, Vietnam" has a total investment of 10.83 million USD from KOICA, along with more than 56 billion VND of counterpart capital from the province, including 3 main components: propaganda , raising public awareness of waste classification at source . Investing in infrastructure and equipment, building two waste treatment plants in Hiep Hoa commune: an organic composting plant with a capacity of 65 tons/day and a secondary waste sorting plant with a capacity of 20 tons/day. Site clearance and investment in technical infrastructure to serve the project. Upon completion, the project will help increase the rate of waste classification at source, increase resource recovery, reduce pollution, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve the quality of people's living environment.

  At the meeting, Mr. Cha Kwang Myoung - Vice President of KECO said that this is an important opportunity for KECO and Tay Ninh province to exchange and share experiences, and identify appropriate solutions to ensure the project is implemented effectively and sustainably. We are committed to closely accompanying, from technical consulting, human resource training, to monitoring the operation model of the classification - collection - recycling system.

He believes that with close coordination between Tay Ninh province, KOICA and KECO, the project will not only bring practical benefits to local people but also be a model for replication in other provinces and cities of Vietnam in the future.
