Immediately after receiving the news, the local authorities urgently mobilized militia forces to coordinate with officers and soldiers of Song Trang Border Guard Station ( Tay Ninh Border Guard Command) and Company 8 (Region 4 Defense Command) to quickly arrive at the scene, organize rescue and overcome the incident.
Officers and soldiers immersed themselves in flood water to rescue rice for people.
Due to continuous heavy rain for many days, combined with strong upstream floodwaters, the water level of the Trang River in Hung Dien commune rose, causing the dike section in Go Phao hamlet, about 500m long, to overflow and a 5m section to break. The water from the river overflowed into the fields, causing flooding, affecting nearly 200ha of farmers' rice.
Officers, soldiers and people urgently overcome the dike break.
50 officers and soldiers from various units were mobilized along with emergency equipment and supplies to carry out the work. Officers and soldiers used B40 nets combined with waterproof nylon tarpaulins and earthen sacks to block the water flow and reinforce the dike body.
After more than two hours of struggling under high floodwaters and harsh weather conditions, the dike breach was repaired, initially preventing water from flooding into the production area. At other key locations, officers and soldiers continued to coordinate with local authorities and people to reinforce and raise the dike surface, ensuring safety for the entire route.
Many measures were deployed by the forces to overcome the problem.
On the same day, in Vinh Chau commune, the militia continued to support the people of Bon hamlet to reinforce a 2.2km long dike section to protect 86 hectares of rice in the early stages of growth.
Previously, at around 3am on October 14, in Xom Moi hamlet, Vinh Chau commune, a dike breach of about 6 meters in length occurred, causing water to overflow and inundate about 220 hectares of 25-day-old rice fields of the people. The initial cause was determined to be due to prolonged heavy rain combined with rising floodwaters, causing the dike to leak and lead to the breach.
Militia forces coordinated with the Commune Police and local people to fix the incident at Xom Moi hamlet, Vinh Chau commune on October 14.
Immediately after the incident, the Vinh Chau Commune Military Command quickly mobilized militia forces to coordinate with the Commune Police and local people to organize emergency reinforcement. By 8:20 a.m. the same day, the dike section was repaired, ensuring temporary safety for the production area.
Currently, flood water levels in many areas in Tay Ninh province continue to rise, causing heavy damage to people's rice and crop areas.
Faced with complicated weather developments, the provincial armed forces are closely coordinating with local authorities to regularly monitor and grasp the situation, and prepare forces and means to promptly respond and overcome incidents when they occur, contributing to minimizing damage to people and property, and protecting the lives and livelihoods of people in flood-affected areas./.
